Arizona Rose and the Pirates' Riddles

Combining fascinating puzzles and hidden object scenes with incredibly compelling storyline, Arizona Rose and the Pirates’ Riddles won’t let you tear yourself away from the screen, until you pass it up to the end or fall off your chair with fatigue. Taking into account the huge number of levels, the second option is more likely.

Puzzles and mini-games take slight precedence over the hidden object scenes, so before downloading this game you should decide for yourself whether you like to puzzle over complex logical problems and are willing to deal with them for several hours. The gameplay mostly consists of numeric puzzles that look like a cross between Sudoku and Minesweeper. There also are some other riddles, including the puzzles with geometric shapes, but they are much less numerous.

As for the hidden object scenes, for the most part, they are way too easy. The hidden objects often lie in plain sight and stand out against the background, so you don’t even need to check the shopping list to point them. Instead of the names of the items that you need to find, the shopping list displays their silhouettes, making your job even easier. In Casual Mode there is no penalty for “accidental clicks”, and the Hint button recharges almost instantly. Surely, it is a little bit harder to play in Hard Mode, but still nothing special.

Finally, the graphics looks absolutely outdated. Most of the backgrounds are vague and unclear, especially if you’re on a high resolution display. The opening cut scene is quite impressive, but also a bit pixelated. If this game was created in 2008, it would be a real masterpiece. Still, even today Arizona Rose and the Pirates’ Riddles has a good chance to become one of your favorite games, if you are indifferent to the graphical delights and adore challenging numeric puzzles.
